African swine fever
1. Thirteen wild boar and twenty domestic pig outbreaks of African swine fever have occurred in Romania.
On December 2 and 6, Romania reported 13 outbreaks of African swine fever in wild pigs and 20 outbreaks in domestic pigs across seven counties, including Buzău County. A total of 20 wild pigs were infected and died, 216 domestic pigs were infected with 41 deaths, and 1,345 domestic pigs were culled.
2. Sixty-two African swine fever outbreaks in wild boars reported in Germany
On December 3 and 5, Germany reported 62 outbreaks of African swine fever in wild boar in three regions, including Hesse, resulting in the infection and death of 62 wild boar.
3. Six Outbreaks of African Swine Fever in Wild Boars Reported in Italy
On December 4, Italy reported six outbreaks of African swine fever in wild pigs in three regions, including the Liguria Region, resulting in the infection and death of six wild pigs.
4. Hungary Reports 19 Outbreaks of African Swine Fever in Wild Boars
On December 4, Hungary reported 19 cases of African swine fever in wild boars in Komárom-Esztergom County and another region, resulting in the infection and death of 19 wild boars.
5. One outbreak of African swine fever in domestic pigs has been reported in Moldova.
On December 5, Moldova reported an outbreak of African swine fever in domestic pigs in the Edineț District, resulting in the infection and death of two pigs.
6. Three Outbreaks of African Swine Fever in Domestic Pigs Reported in Sri Lanka
On December 5, Sri Lanka reported three outbreaks of African swine fever in domestic pigs in two districts, including Gampaha District, resulting in the infection and death of 643 pigs.
7. Eighty-one African swine fever outbreaks in wild pigs have occurred in Poland.
On December 6, Poland reported 81 outbreaks of African swine fever in wild boars in two regions, including the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, resulting in the infection and death of 196 wild boars.
8. Four Outbreaks of African Swine Fever in Domestic Pigs Reported in Serbia
On December 6, Serbia reported four outbreaks of African swine fever in domestic pigs in three areas, including Srem District, resulting in six infected pigs, two deaths, and the culling of 138 pigs.

Avian influenza
1. Sixty-one outbreaks of H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza in dairy cattle have occurred in the United States.
On December 2, the United States reported 61 outbreaks of H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza in dairy cattle in California, with multiple animals infected.
2. Twelve wild bird and 14 domestic poultry outbreaks of H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza have been reported in the United States.
On December 2 and 6, the United States reported 12 outbreaks of H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza in wild birds and 14 outbreaks in poultry across seven locations, including the state of Hawaii. A total of 42 free-range poultry were infected and died, 469 were culled, 31 household poultry were infected and died, and 3.131 million poultry were culled.
3. Two outbreaks of H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza in wild birds and 27 outbreaks in poultry have been reported in Canada.
On December 2 and 6, Canada reported two outbreaks of H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza in wild birds and 27 outbreaks in poultry in British Columbia and another region. Several free-range poultry were infected and died, 46,000 poultry were infected and died, and 568,000 poultry were culled.
4. One outbreak of highly pathogenic H5N2 avian influenza in poultry has occurred in Canada.
On December 2, Canada reported an outbreak of highly pathogenic H5N2 avian influenza in poultry in British Columbia, resulting in the infection and death of multiple birds.
5. Eight outbreaks of highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza in wild birds and two in poultry have been reported in Germany.
On December 2 and 6, Germany reported eight outbreaks of highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza in wild birds and two in poultry across six regions, including Thuringia. A total of 10 wild birds were infected and died, 102 poultry were infected and died, and 31,000 poultry were culled.
6. One outbreak of highly pathogenic H7N6 avian influenza in poultry has been reported in New Zealand.
On December 2, New Zealand reported an outbreak of highly pathogenic H7N6 avian influenza in poultry in the Otago region of the South Island, with 14,000 birds infected and 3,500 deaths.
7. One outbreak of highly pathogenic H5N5 avian influenza in wild birds has been reported in Norway.
On December 2, Norway reported an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza subtype H5N5 in wild birds in Finnmark County, resulting in the death of one infected wild bird.
8. Four outbreaks of H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza in poultry and 47 in wild birds have been reported in Austria.
On December 3, Austria reported four outbreaks of highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza in poultry and 47 outbreaks in wild birds across three regions, including Lower Austria. A total of 69,000 poultry were infected, 54,000 died, 161,000 were culled, 85 free-range poultry were infected and died, and 21 were culled.
9. Three Outbreaks of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza in Wild Birds Reported in Poland
On December 5, Poland reported three outbreaks of highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza in wild birds in three regions, including the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, resulting in the death of five infected wild birds.
10. One outbreak of H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza in wild birds and one in domestic poultry have been reported in Croatia.
On December 3 and 6, Croatia reported one outbreak of highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza in wild birds and one in poultry in two locations, including the County of Velika Zágra. Five wild birds were infected and died, 22 poultry were infected and died, and four were culled.
11. Four outbreaks of H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza in poultry and one in wild birds have been reported in Hungary.
On December 4 and 6, Hungary reported four outbreaks of highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza in poultry and one in wild birds in Bács-Kiskun County and three other districts, resulting in the infection and death of 69,000 poultry, the culling of 166,000 poultry, and the infection and death of one wild bird.
12. One outbreak of H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza in poultry and 28 outbreaks in wild birds have been reported in Japan.
On December 4, Japan reported one outbreak of highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza in poultry and 28 outbreaks in wild birds across seven locations, including Saitama Prefecture. A total of 14 poultry were infected and died, 2,528 were culled, and 57 wild birds were infected and died.
13. One outbreak of H5 subtype highly pathogenic avian influenza in wild birds has occurred in Colombia.
On December 4, Colombia reported an outbreak of highly pathogenic H5 subtype avian influenza in wild birds in Chocó Department, affecting 55 free-range poultry, with 54 deaths and 46 culls.
14. Two outbreaks of H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza in poultry and seven in wild birds have been reported in Italy.
On December 4, Italy reported two outbreaks of highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza in poultry and seven in wild birds across four regions, including the Veneto Region. A total of 37,000 poultry were infected, 1,698 died, 42,000 were culled, and 19 wild birds were infected and died.
15. Two outbreaks of H5N5 highly pathogenic avian influenza in wild birds and one in domestic poultry have been reported in Iceland.
On December 4, Iceland reported two outbreaks of highly pathogenic H5N5 avian influenza in wild birds and one outbreak in domestic poultry in the capital region and another area. Two wild birds died from infection, 200 domestic poultry died, and 1,100 were culled.
16. Six outbreaks of H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza in wild birds and one in domestic poultry have been reported in the Czech Republic.
On December 5, the Czech Republic reported six outbreaks of highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza in wild birds and one outbreak in domestic poultry across four regions, including the Moravian-Silesian Region. A total of 83 free-range poultry were infected and died, 119 were culled, 5,976 poultry were infected and died, and 6,788 were culled.
17. Two Outbreaks of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza in Wild Birds Reported in the Netherlands
On December 5, the Netherlands reported two outbreaks of highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza in wild birds in Friesland and another region, resulting in the death of two infected wild birds.
18. Twelve Outbreaks of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza in Wild Birds Reported in Slovenia
On December 6, Slovenia reported 12 outbreaks of highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza in wild birds in two regions, including the Obalno-Kraška Statistical Region, resulting in the infection and death of 23 wild birds.
19. Two Outbreaks of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza in Wild Birds Reported in the United Kingdom
On December 6, the United Kingdom reported two outbreaks of highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza in wild birds in England, resulting in the death of four infected birds.
20. One outbreak of highly pathogenic H5N5 avian influenza in wild birds has occurred in the United Kingdom.
On December 6, the United Kingdom reported an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N5 subtype in wild birds in England, resulting in the death of one infected wild bird.

1. One outbreak of O-type foot-and-mouth disease has occurred in Palestine.
On December 3, Palestine reported an outbreak of O-type foot-and-mouth disease in the West Bank, affecting 13 goats and sheep, with 10 deaths.
2. Two Outbreaks of Sheep Pox in Bulgaria
On December 2, Bulgaria reported two outbreaks of sheep pox in two locations, including Sliven Province, with 10 sheep infected and 3 deaths.
3. Nine Outbreaks of Sheep Pox in Greece
On December 2, Greece reported nine outbreaks of sheep pox in two regions, including Thessaly and Central Greece, affecting 167 sheep and resulting in 12 deaths.
4. One outbreak of Bluetongue serotype 8 has occurred in Portugal.
On December 2, Portugal reported an outbreak of Bluetongue serotype 8 in the Portalegre District, with one bovine infected.
5. One outbreak of Bluetongue serotype 3 reported in Poland
On December 2, Poland reported an outbreak of Bluetongue disease serotype 3 in Lower Silesia Province, with three cattle infected.
6. Ten Rabies Outbreaks in East Timor
On December 2 and 3, Timor-Leste reported 10 rabies outbreaks in two districts, including Bobonaro District, resulting in the infection and death of 33 domestic dogs.
7. Two Anthrax Outbreaks in France
On December 2, France reported two anthrax outbreaks in two locations, including the Côte-d’Or department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region, resulting in the infection and death of four cattle.
8. Three Outbreaks of Bluetongue Serotype 4 in Croatia
On December 3, Croatia reported three outbreaks of Bluetongue serotype 4 in Varaždin County and two other areas, involving two cattle and three sheep; 26 sheep were culled.
9. Eighteen Outbreaks of Bluetongue Virus Serotype 3 in Denmark
On December 3, Denmark reported 18 outbreaks of Bluetongue serotype 3 in 10 locations, including the municipality of Sønderborg, affecting 62 cattle and resulting in 4 deaths.
10. One West Nile fever outbreak reported in Germany
On December 3, Germany reported an outbreak of West Nile fever in Rhineland-Palatinate, with one horse infected.
11. Two West Nile Fever Outbreaks in Austria
On December 3, Austria reported two outbreaks of West Nile fever in Burgenland and another region, with three wild birds confirmed to be infected.
12. Four outbreaks of nodular dermatosis have occurred in Japan.
On December 3 and 4, Japan reported four outbreaks of lumpy skin disease in Fukuoka Prefecture, with five cattle infected and 15 culled.
13. An outbreak of New World screw-worm myiasis has occurred in Mexico.
On December 3, Mexico reported an outbreak of New World screw-worm myiasis in Chiapas State, affecting one cattle.
14. A rabies outbreak has occurred in Palestine.
On December 3, Palestine reported an outbreak of rabies in the West Bank, with one domestic dog infected and subsequently dying.
15. Two Outbreaks of Bluetongue Virus Serotype 4 in Cyprus
On December 4, Cyprus reported two outbreaks of Bluetongue serotype 4 in the Akrotiri and Dhekelia Sovereign Base Areas, affecting three sheep and two goats.
16. One outbreak of peste des petits ruminants has occurred in Bulgaria.
On December 4, Bulgaria reported an outbreak of peste des petits ruminants in Pazardzhik Province, affecting 25 sheep and resulting in 4 deaths.
17. One outbreak of Bluetongue serotype 3 has occurred in Liechtenstein.
On December 5, Liechtenstein reported an outbreak of Bluetongue disease serotype 3 in the municipality of Schaan, with one bovine case.
18. Seven Outbreaks of Sheep Pox in Greece
On December 5, Greece reported seven outbreaks of sheep pox in two regions, including Thessaly and Central Greece, affecting 242 sheep and resulting in 80 deaths.
19. Nine Outbreaks of Bluetongue Serotype 8 in Greece
On December 5, Greece reported nine outbreaks of Bluetongue serotype 8 in three regions, including Thessaly and Central Greece, resulting in 134 infected sheep and the culling of 95.
20. One West Nile fever outbreak reported in France
On December 6, France reported an outbreak of West Nile fever in the Gironde department of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, with one horse infected.
