[Information Sharing] Report on Major Animal Epidemics Nationwide in August 2025

In August 2025, a total of 23 major animal epidemics of Categories I, II, and III were reported nationwide, affecting 113,299 animals (heads, poultry, individual animals, or horses) and resulting in 9,724 deaths. Among these, Category II included 16 major animal epidemics, with 34,777 affected animals and 4,539 deaths; the top three diseases in terms of reported cases were porcine epidemic diarrhea, brucellosis, and gosling plague, accounting for 94.45% of all Category II reported cases. Category III comprised 7 major animal epidemics, affecting 78,522 animals and resulting in 5,185 deaths; the top three diseases in terms of reported cases were coccidiosis in chickens, swine influenza, and pasteurellosis, together accounting for 98.09% of all Category III reported cases.
